Success story: The Boston Globe

Challenge

For a new look for its Sunday Money & Markets section, The Boston Globe turned to Custom Flow Solutions to automate its financial market graphs and tables. Separate print-ready pages were needed for the daily, Sunday and Monday editions, in color and black and white, plus quarterly and annual editions: twenty-four versions in all. The Globe also required round-the-clock technical support with a 15-minute response time.

Solution

The Globe licensed a customized version of HyperGraph. It created all the graphs and tables for its business section in minutes, and multiple page versions became easy to create and manage. Operators could create custom graphs as needed and upload finished graphs to an FTP server for automatic placement in CCI, with full activity and error logging.

Result

The graphs were created nightly in record time, and Globe staff knew a CFS consultant was ready to help with any issue 24 hours a day.
